This refers to the news report, ‘FG Employees Housing Foundation awaits
NoC from CDA’ (November 20), regarding construction of multi-storey
apartment buildings in G-13. We, the residents, are opposed to this
project for two reasons. First, the Housing Foundation has increased the
height of these buildings four times. This is a grave violation of the
original plan shown to the allottees and is not legally sustainable.

Habitat, a welfare society constituted of residents, has already taken this
case to the Wafaqi Mohtasib (Ombudsman). Second, the project is flawed from
a town-planning perspective. How can the sector infrastructure, designed for
6,000 households, cater to the needs of 9,000 households? There are only two
entry points which would be choked. Schools will not be able to accommodate
the extra number of children. The roads and the sewerage system, poorly
constructed by FWO, have already petered out. CDA should not approve this
project in a hurry.
